I have been a class 1 special officer for the Mount Holly Police Dept. for the past 20 yrs.
We assist.the department with processing prisoners,
guarding them when they need treatment at the hospital.
We also transport to the jail.
This keeps the patrols on the road.
We also do duties at the schools when they have events.
And when there are events downtown like parades or sidewalk sales we assist.
The Police Dept.has 23... full time Officers.
There are 6... Class 2 officers.
And then there are 5...Class 1 officers.
The Burlington County Sheriffs Dept. also assist with patrols in the evening hours.
They started a new program called Cummunity Patrols.
They assist townships with patroling the streets where there is high crime.
